I thought Stamp already did 1959 Cadillacs in 1/43..... guess not. This prototype looks pretty good so far. I do not know when these will be available.
I am definitely not a fan of the '59 Caddy design but I definitely will buy this one (a) because it is an iconic 50s fins era car and (b) because it is a STAMP product.
@jack-dodds I often hear that.... love it/hate it, it's too iconic to overlook.
I have most of the post war thru 1973 Cadillacs in 1:43 (mostly Stamp), so to exclude the most polarizing and yet iconic design of that time frame would be a glaring omission in my display.
@100ford2003 The short answer is "No," although I should've bought at least a few as investments, right? In 2024 & 25 they'll be $650 plus!
But as a model, I just can't bring myself to spend ANY money for a sealed resin replica despite HOW GORGEOUS these 1/18 '59s are. I must admit, though, that Stamp's 1959 CDV and upcoming 1962 SDV have tempted me more than any other 1/18 resin.
@jack-dodds I agree Jack I think you share my thinking that the 62 is my favorite post war Cadillac. Several years ago Conquest did the 62 in a Coupe DeVille, Sedan DeVille and a convertible. IMO these Conquest models are superb and equal to the best MOC models in detail and proportions.
The ‘59 in 1:43 is a must have for me. I live the design. I’m hoping for interesting colors other than red.
I've been very tempted by 1:18 Stamp models too. So hard to resist, but I stopped collecting that scale, so far that’s my excuse for not buying.
I agree about wanting more/better colors on this CDV. My personal 4 best likes in order are Persian Sand Poly, Wood Rose Poly, Inverness Green Poly with white roof. Georgian Blue Poly.

I'm not a big fan of the '59 Cadillac. I love every other GM product for '59 but not the Cadillac. However, if I had the money, I would buy one just to have it because it looks perfect.
IMO, Sunstar hit H.R.s with their '59 Pontiacs and Oldsmobiles. I wish they'd have attempted the Caddy. At least we were lucky enough to get the Chevy and Buick which were / are decent models. I'm not impressed with the AutoArt Caddy.
I'm surprised to hear that. Having owned a 1:1 '59 CDV, I can say the AA '59 is very good but NOT without flaws. The brown color was pure fiction, but the Seminole Red was accurate. The trunk is all wrong (the black paint under the trunk is ridiculous ). There's no antenna & engine detail is minimal....but it's still the best 1/18 1959 Cadillac around.
