I think Matrix may feel burned by US cars -- but they made some questionable choices.[long post] *Eldorado and Mustang pick-ups and wagons??
*The hideous '74 Chevelle [hurry on down, it's still available]
*'84 Chrysler -- ugly, and perhaps the worst car Chrysler ever produced
*The various 70s Ford sedans. How can something be bland and ugly at the same time?
*Lest we forget: That behorned Cadillac.
And I agree, enough already with the Service cars.
Matrix please don't give up on US cars -- just get out of the 70s and 80s. During the 70s economic issues and new regs turned American cars into cheapened, disposable commodites.
I know a few of us harp over the lack of 60s subjects, but these included so many that were better looking and better performing, and was the last decade to create excitement in the buyer. This is still reflected by serious interest at auctions than anything from the following decades.
I think Sergio is on to something: even mass market cars like the Falcon, Nova, and Park Lane create more excitement than mass market cars of later decades.
A major model retailer is taking preorders for Bentley S1 Park Ward Bronze/Maroon, driven by Hollywood mogul Jack Warner. It is identical to David Niven's Bentley and would just be a color variant, easily produced.
+1 I agree completely with what you say.
Here's the Niven Bentley, in my preferred color choice.

I have it too. So much that I'd like both variants.
