MUCH BETTER! 😀 😀 😀   (those way-too-wide wheel tracks drives me crazy)

...but I'd still like to see whitewalls that looked like these:

Merc W 2

Very smart wagon and setting to match. The nice thing about these models is you can 'stay home' and still enjoy the big outdoors!

@domi7777 Are you handy?

You can make them. I've thinned down  or re-laid  many whitewalls.  In this case, you can simply repaint the whitewall using Tamiya acrylic flat white then use metal washers (or similar) to trace the OD & ID (outer & inner diameters) with a fine tip black Sharpie  marker, then use (if needed) Tamiya acrylic flat black to fill in any larger areas.

Practice on some junk tires first. If you make a mistake, EVERYTHING can be washed clean with water. These Goldvarg Mercury wagons are too nice to wear such wrong wheel tracks & tires.

These are larger scale but, here's just a few examples of whitewall tires I've "adjusted"  using nothing but the method I just described. (...on the Impala & Pontiac, the wheel tracks were narrowed  )

@chris

Thank you very much for telling me your method with the use of metal washers; it is a good idea even if it seems very delicate at 1/43 scale.

I am now waiting to receive the Polar White version of this Mercury '65 and i will try with 10mm and 12mm washers to achieve the thiness of the 1/1 scale model you presented... 😉

GREAT tire/track mods! This big  Merc looks so much nicer when represented closer to production accuracy.  Those wheels look so much better "tucked in"  and with improved whitewalls.  Awesome job (and pics )!

Thanks for sharing. 😎 😎

What a superb station wagon here ! It looks great in the photographs and it all forms. Goldvarg  definitely did a fine job on this big Mercury and it would be tough choosing a color of this one.

@domi7777 Love the diorama-style photos and how you positioned the wagon so realistically. What camper is featured here?

@randyrusk Thanks for your appreciation; the caravan comes from the Matchbox King Size reference K-69 "Europa" series, made in 1978.
