Today I'd like to offer a topic about whie metal models creaated in South Africa. The name of manufacturer was Milestone Miniatures. I know that the same name had English company who made British cars and American as a range 43 Avenue.

But the company from South Africa had it's own model range. I know only 2 models- 1960 Chrysler Valiant and 1961 Ford Falcon. They were introduced in the middle of 1990s and the price was about 45-50 dollars for a model.

Of course, they can be rather simple in details. but they have a soul.

I have only 1961 Falcon in my collection.

Doea anybody have 1960 Valliant?

What do you think about this manufacturer? Have you got the information about it's other models?

It looks great and was nicely done. Well worth picking up if one can find one out there.

There are a number of them on ebay now including a white version and a couple of different blues.  They look nice and I've always liked these Valiants.

I'd like to pay your attention on registration numbers MM2 on the model. I think that it is prouction index which proves that 1961 Falcon has been the second model in production line. The first was 1960 Chrysler Valliant with numbers MM1.

We can see this model on magazine cover. MAR 102, June 1996.

One model was a prize for competition.

I apologise for the quality of photo.

@fred-eliseeff, Fredo, are you aware that MAR is now online? You can see it here.

Not the first time MAR gave a Falcon as a prize. I won this one in a later contest (1965 Futura FP by Trax).

It's excellent model by Trax from Australia! Is it resin built or diecast? When was it issued?

I really liked it when Trax was doing interesting versions of US cars as relatively affordable diecasts.  I took one of these Falcons and made a 1963 Comet S-22.

1963 Comet S22 #2
1963 Comet S22 #3
1963 Comet S22 #4

And earlier their 1960 Falcon 4 door wagon into a 1960 Comet 4 door wagon, a replica of a family car from the era.

I'm very impressed of your Falcons, dear friends. They look excellent. Some years ago Trax made a huge model range of Falcons in diecast.

Now they make resin models and its another page in their history. So, I think we can create new topic about Trax from Australia. I'm a fan of Fords and will be happy to see diecast and resin models by Trax.
