The quintessence of 1939 New York World's Fair futurism, the General Motors Futurliner made a massive statement. At over 11 1/2' tall and a whopping 35,000 lbs, it's a impressive piece even when reduced 43 times. I don't have an extensive 1/43 collection. I actually started collecting in that scale with the Great American Dream Machines because it was the only scale that offered models of concept cars way back when. This Futurliner has become the centerpiece of my Motorama era concept cars. If you've never seen Dave Kindig's $300,000 restoration of one of the 9 remaining (2 are being parted out) Futurliners, you can pull up those episodes from Motortrend.

I have this model of the Futerliner, also have it in 1:64 scale by Greenlight. Both are impressive models. I have seen this in person at the Meadowbrook Concours de Elegance car show several years ago, the sheer size of it is incredible.

Awesome! I too have a few in 1/64 but not in 1/43. Always loved this working "out of the muddle"  version, very cool. 😎
