Some may remember a few weeks ago when I posted here a recent find: (Click on pictures for enlarging.)
And with the help of several kind and knowledgeable Forum 43 members, we dug into B.S. "Mac" McReynolds and his 28 white metal, 1:43 models (of a proposed 50, all Fords) of just about 50 years ago. Those were the early days of serious models in our chosen scale.
And here's a second one that I recently found, just as it arrived. I delayed pictures so I could do just a little tweaking of it to ease its years.
And after some white wall work, windshield attempts, license plate, touch up paint, etc.
Alongside a couple of other '40 Fords:
I see several other Auto Buff Fords on the 'bay, mostly from Europe. I admit I'm tempted. Enjoy! David H
David, you make me deeply sorry that I traded off my Auto Buff models some years ago. Thanks for sharing these.
David H - looks great all fixed up! Did you polish the paint?
Thank you, David and Karl, for your kind comments. David, congratulations on your sales. According to eBay actions, there's interest in these, especially in Europe. Karl, I gave it the equivalent of a driveway wash job. Some parts seemed just a little too intricate for really waxing it. Or maybe I just need to find a better wax?
David
@mcjbob Thanks for posting the picture, Robert. I've never seen one of these, and I want one. But not at the prices I'm seeing right now!
(later) I found a very similar Martchbox '40 Ford pick up already in my collection. Now I can wait until I find the RIGHT Auto Buff!
