Very cute, and though not my cup of tea, I'd like to say...

... the level and the quality of the detailing on the model is exactly what i'd be looking for in the model of that price range. Excellent!!! Well done Brooklin!

Now, I'd like to see some late 60's large sedands/wagons/coupes/convertible made in that Brooklin trademark "thick-paint-chromed-metal" style. Like these two 1966 Dodge Coronet cars below:

First of all thanks to J.R. for the picture, and to D.B. for posting it. Looks like another fine Brooklin Model, altough maybe another colour would've maken it even better??

Yeah, I am thinking of a bronze metallic.. what do you recon, Dirk?

On page 121 there is a factory color that I think might have looked better. Plus I don't think the Henry J ever came with white interior as the model looks.

Brooklin's sales of cars of the sixties have never been very good.

That said, there should be a few in the future. I keep pushing for the '64-66 Barracuda, love that rear window.

Interior is pale grey which I believe is correct.

Nigel liaised with Paul Bender on the colour. There are two colour trials in the factory, one in pale blue, the other in pale yellow. Both look nice. I've just refinished my sample model in...guess what...metallic bronze! I looked on the net for another colour. I think the green is very nice but I wanted a real contrast for my first special, and also a darker colour that would show the chrome detailing.

All I can say...

.. is that hopefully a new generation of collectors will be more nostalgic for the sixties. I know WM has a limited exposure to the 60's replicas and probably it is SMTS with their CON/Madison range who's made most of the 60's cars, but that decade has certainly produced a number of beautiful cars, worthy a white metal rendition for us - incurably addicted simple men :p

Easy on the chrome, John.

This car had none to speak of. The raised lines are NOT chrome. They were put in the panels to strengthen the stampings. Only the high line model even had chrome around the windshield. Do you need pictures?

Alex, afraid I'm prejudiced against the sixties.

It was during that decade that I worked at Chrysler-Plymouth Division as a District Sales Manager and, later, in an administrative management position. The cars you liked were mostly my competition. Someone once said that to be successful you must hate your competitor. I have an overly long memory but I do have most if not all of the models produced of Chrysler Corporation cars of the sixties. To me they were not very pretty cars.

Oh, well, that finished off the dream of a 60's model car 🙂
