Thanks for video. Looks like a really nice model. Quick question, how common were wheels with 8 lug nuts? I do not remember them.

John, you might want to add something about navigating within HobbyDB to help people, who want to order one.

As soon as we get a link, I'll post it.
Ed, 8 Lug wheels were all the rage at Pontiac throughout most of the sixties.

Excellent video of this Brooklin/Hobby DB 1961 Pontiac, John. What a beauty in real life and in this pretty exclusive 1/43 form !
I don't remember red striped tires being so prevalent in 1961...gee, my gray matter is turning to dust..lol.

The actual car that hobbyDB modeled is up there now, as well as the Brooklin. For sale to the public, as well as through direct email from hobbyDB.

@100ford2003 I don't think red stripe tires were around in 1961. As I remember they were introduced in '64 on the Pontiac GTO.
This one is beautiful and there no commandment, so models can be of originals, modern restorations, "what-if", etc, etc. It is hard to prove a negative, so as always, if you like it consider getting it, and perhaps do a tire switch if you prefer.
The original 1952 Pegaso Z102 Cupola Coupe build for Raphael Trujillo, dictator of Dominican Republic and often referred to as the 'Rosa de Te' due to its tea pink colour, had red wall tyres back then (2" perhaps 2 1/2"). Is it possible that manufacturers were making red-striped tyres independently? The tyres in fact had the wide red band plus a pinstripe of yellow/pink outside that to match the paintwork colour!

That's what I thought too !

Remember the NBC Rivieras with blackwall tires? Same thing here - after-market tires on the 1:1 car actually modeled.
@mg-harv, oddly enough, white walls were optional on the 63-64 Rivieras. I can't remember ever seeing one without them. But on a visit to the NB Center just before the Riviera model was released, I brought up the black wall issue, mentioning that it looked odd and might hinder sales. Jed Rappaport, a car collector and Buick expert, challenged me to prove blackwalls were not standard. A close inspection of the brochures did indeed show whitewalls to be optional. I can't imagine anyone getting one without them, and Jed agreed...but here's the proof.

received mine a few days ago, and agree with most of what John said. An outstanding model, and I like the red accents even if not appropriate for 1961. Mine is No. 24 of only 25. I only have one very minor issue, and that is that the chrome on the side was created by filing off the paint on the raised trim. The file marks are quite visible, perhaps next time use a finer-ridged file?
I have all of the build sheets, gate release and window stickers on my 1963 Thunderbird Sports Roadster and the window sticker shows white wall tires as a $31.00 option. Like the Riviera, these cars were fairly luxurious in their day and while I can't ever recall seeing either with black wall tires that doesn't mean there couldn't have been some. I'm quite sure that the dealers would have ordered them with the white walls.
