I did acquire a model from the eBay sale of a French seller and I let several others go past, just to see what they would sell for and there were some very good deals to be had. His photography is rather dark and I had to use PS to blow up the images and get a detailed look at several of the cars, to determine if I wanted them or not. The one in question is a Palace 1930 Bentley Gurney Nutting DHC. I am a huge fan of Gurney Nutting styling, ranking it right up there with Chapron and Letourner & Marchand (not to forget Park Ward, of course). So far, no one has even nibbled at this auction and I was thinking of taking a punt. The seller's shipping rates are very high, for the size of the package, but I will have to see how quickly my first win arrives. Perhaps he is sending everything express, which would warrant a 23€ shipping fee.
Anyway, I know absolutely nothing about Palace models and any counsel will be appreciated. Auction is this evening.
Palace is a new one on me. Keep us posted. I'm interested in what you find out.

Okay, here are a few screensaves as the auctions progressed and this is just a sampling of what went under the hammer. The Matrix Bentley went past my high bid, but I wasn't disappointed, because I had a chat with the seller and there are amazing things coming down the pike. Not only that, everyone should take a look at the 1/18 listings he has up. Guiloy Delahayes, and others. The Palace Bentley went for a very low price, but I am holding off until next week. A sample of the 1/18 offerings by this seller:
I intend to bid on the BOS Bentley, but the way the bidding is already heating up on several of the 1/18 scale models I don't know how it will go. None of this is live-or-die to me, so I'll survive.

@bob-jackman So do I, and the bidding is already going up, and we're still 6 days and 7 hours from the auction's end. This one will go over 200€ without breaking a sweat, partially due to my efforts.
@bob-jackman Perhaps, but I can't own all of them and if another member has deeper pockets I don't mind losing this one. For me, this is a hobby and no model is do-or-die, and sharing the news about exceptional auctions with folks who have provided me with some valuable information these past few weeks is just good karma.
Check out how high these other special models are going, as well, days before the auctions.
@gdh CMC are top rated models and are very detailed in every way. Anson are budget priced usually lacking much detail but I find they do an excellent job of getting the proportions right., Sunstar models are mid priced in 1/18 scale and are generally a good value for the money.
@bob-jackman Thank you. This information will help when I am bidding on a few I knew nothing about.
@bob-jackman Exactly! I have also found that sometimes the one you really want does come along, in time, such as the GLM Rolls Royce J&B Vincent Van I wanted.
