PICS 1965 Mercury Park Lane Gold Poly.

Dear collectors friends, here there are some photos that I took today to the pre-production sample. The "MERCURY" letters in the front are a little big and I will reduce them.photo no longer available

What are we seeing? Painted body with a simulated vinyl roof covering?

The roof needs to be textured or painted body color...

...other than that, it looks great! Just my opinion.

Absolutely phenominal! But may I suggest the fuel door guard be eliminated? Real car people didn't have those. They were only for the salesman to sell to idiots who didn't know how to fill the tank. Where I come from. We liked cars. We filled our own.

I realise this is a sample, but to my eyes, the wheelcovers are too small. Too much...

tire showing between the whitewall and the edge of the wheelcover.

Pearl grey was a possible twotone roof color, but the aqua is already a twotone --

I say just make this one all gold. Vinyl tops hadn't really taken off yet, and were only available in a couple of colors in '65. That 'Ivy Gold' is spot-on and is elegant all by itself.

And he even nailed the 'Palomino' seat color--!
