PICs: Art and Cars: After a long time of my (active) absence from the forum,
I want show and tell you a new little story about
"Cars and Art". I hope, I can entertain some members with
it, mayby for some members its a torment.... sorry.

But at first, I want say thank you for the great
entertainment you did for me. The wonderful Studebaker
dealership diorama from Randall, the stunning little movie
from Davids summer retreat on Martha's Vineyard, and all
the nice cars you post, and not at least, the unbelievable
story about Randys Torino. Ok, I take my eyes open, when I
go to France... and I will say hello, when I meet him...

My little story its about Wolf Vostell. Believe it or not, he was a car lover. Here you can see him in the middel
between Savadore Dali (he was Car lover also and did
many art work with cars) and Dalis wife Gala:

When I lived in Berlin, I always saw on the "Rathenau
Place" this sculptur from Vostell, named "Concrete Cadillac
in shape of the naked Maja". Vostell used two Fleetwoods
from the eighties for it:

Then, wen I left Berlin and moved to Cologne, I found
Vostell again. This sculptur, named "rested traffic" parked
on the middle of a street. Under the concrete its a Opel
Kapit?n from 1962:

On Youtube its a nice little movie (4 minutes) from the performance:

Another Cadillac, a 1967 Fleetwood had to die for his
installation named "Car fever". The four "arms" move the
plattes on the floor. It makes a very interesting noise....:

Here more Cadillac installations from Wolf Vostell:

For this sculpure, Vostell used a Mercedes 600. The
sculpure is named "The winds"

Vostell died in 1998, he has a museum in Spain, the "Museo
Vostell Malpartida".

And here the models in 1:43:

1967 Cadillac DeVille Coupe, sadly unreleased model from
Andre Maria Ruf AMR. He died before the production starts.
I have just the convertible, he released before.

I hope this was not a torture for you but some pleasure, too!

Cheers
Christoph
