If that's accomplished, here's hoping your collections are on high shelves.

Thanks, Harv! So this is all your fault, eh? I've had a good amount of rain and wind, but nothing close to what the folks in other places have experienced. Towns just 30-40 miles away have seen 20 inches or more of rain and serious flooding. And what the folks on the coast and close to Houston have experienced defies description. It's really awful to contemplate that they may get hit again by this same storm in a few days.
Thanks for the thoughts, but so far all is well except for some minor inconveniences.

Rick, good to hear that you are okay. I have several friends who live in the Houston area who are experiencing some major problems, In addition to flooding it seems they are on alert from tornadoes as well.

We don't get those extremes of weather in my part of the world. We did have a "tornado" in 1952, which was really a whirlwind, but meteoroligically we are quite stable. I'm sure all of us on this side of the pond wish you all well if Harvey is troubling you. Stay safe.

England floods

Before the most recent glaciation receded, England was connected to Ireland and the continent by land. The folks who lived there are still underwater! And now, guess what's happening to the rest of the glaciers?

Thanks for the concern, we are fine...
I now live in Austin TX area, on the west side where there is elevation and hills everywhere. Like Rick said, we only had 2 days of very strong winds and semi-horizontal rains, nothing like the Houston area disaster.

In and around this part of north east Derbyshire, we don't suffer much at all.
