I just learned that Autocult will produce a 1/43 version of "Sir Vival", one of the strangest automotive creations you will ever see.  Loosely based on a 1948 Hudson, "Sir Vival" was a prototype safety car created by Walter Jerome of Worcester, MA.  I had an opportunity to visit Bellingham Auto Sales and see the car in person prior to its recent sale to the Lane Motor Museum.  You can read more details in the attached article.  https://www.hagerty.com/media/car-profiles/this-center-hinged-car-was-all-about-sir-vival-in-1958/
Small world, Dave!  Harvey, Skip, and I saw it in the basement of the Lane (on different days)! The new curator at the Lane had a lot to say about it and was excited they would do a 'sympathetic restoration' on it - get it road worthy but leave it in as-found condition as much as possible. I can't wait to see it in action! 😎Â
Mr. Moore, who owned the car for many years, is convinced that the Lane Museum will be a good home for it. What a hoot it will be to see it once again drivable!  Did you notice the driver's seat?  I am pretty sure it must have come from and airplane.
One of the more ugly vehicles but an interesting history. Auto cult has done a nice job. Sir Vival actually looks better in 1/43. Pleased to see the impressive contributions in this post. Thanks everyone.
