I know someone who is looking for one. Is there a chance any US dealers still have one?

Yikes indeed. Was hoping for something more reasonable. The friend who wants it is in France, so even more expensive with shipping.
@mg-harv You can find pewter examples for less than $50, but no STAMP/GLMs are "reasonable" at the moment.  Inexpensive (< $20 ) 1/64 Allantes are plentiful, but I doubt that helps.  I wish you luck!Â
1983 CADILLAC ALLANTE DIE CAST PEWTER 4x2 | eBay
@ed-davis Both Johnny Lightning and Matchbox issued Allantes in a host of livery & wheel treatment combinations too numerous to mention. Majorette also issued an Allante, but it's rather toyish. Playing Mantis also produced Allantes.

Yep, for that price it ought to have a working convertible top. I remember having a beautiful 1/18 scale BMW Z4 with a beautifully scaled working convertible top. I believe David Gavin has it now and I couldn't be happier because he really appreciates it. And it was nowhere near over $250.
@mg-harv Some collectors think they are sitting on a gold mine asking these prices.Â
I am at the counter culture of the hobby because as soon as I don't like to display a model anymore, it gets out of my shelves and go to storage. I have no time to waste listing on Ebay. I recently offered to resellers at a cheap price the full collection of GLM Imperials and there is no interest. No big deal.Â
If you closely watch those types of listings, there are very few completed sales. I believe some of the sellers think their listings are really worth that much. These folks keep relisting, hoping the "market will come back." Case in point, for the huge number of Motor City listings over the last few months, many of them at nose-bleed prices, there are a very limited number of completed sales, most of those at much lower prices. Click here to see the summary. Many sellers see their model listed by another seller at a very high price and think, "Mine must be worth that as well!" Still, many others see the listing and think the models sell for those prices. They don't.
I also believe some sellers are trolling for buyers, intending to make contact outside of eBay and selling at a more reasonable price. I'd like eBay to limit the number of listings a seller can post.Â
I was on a cruise ship a few months ago. I walked into the jewelry shop. They had some high-end watches on display. One of them was a Tag Huer 39mm steel Chronograph. I asked about the price and was quoted $9000. I said, "No one is going to pay that much for that particular Tag." After briefly chatting with the salesman, I brought up the price again. He smiled and said, "Yes, I know. But now we are talking, and I am open to an offer."

Did they also make Allante 4x4s ??? 🤣 🤣 🤣
Highway Travelers made an Allante in 1/43. There's one on eBay. Automodello makes one in 1/24.Â
