Stirling Moss' FERRARI 250 SWB Winner of the TOURIST TROPHY 1961
Victory for Stirling Moss looked to be certain in the 1961 running of the Tourist Trophy at Goodwood, and he didn't disappoint, winning in the same Ferrari 250 SWB owned by Rob Walker as the previous year.
In 1961 he secured his seventh and final Tourist Trophy win 11 years after he won his first. Not that it took him 11 races to win those seven, for there were, just nine TTs over that period.
In 1961 he came home a lap ahead of Mike Parkes in another Ferrari 250 SWB, the year prior he had enjoyed a two-lap advantage over Roy Salvadori’s Aston Martin DB4GT — enough of a lead, it seems, to allow him to listen to the radio as he whiled away the hours.
Rich Sufficool just did a neat post on the CMC version of this Ferrari 250 SWB which prompted me to get out this 1/43 version.
Here is the Bang Edition , made in Italy of the Stirling Moss FERRARI 250 SWB (Short Wheel Base).
