The 1:1 original was an early ERA, one of several owned and raced by Prince Bira of Siam (Thialand) in the mid-1930's, most often painted in blue and yellow. The white metal 1:43 kit was made about 1972 by Barry Lester, probably sold by John Day soon thereafter. There are no markings on this model for either Mr. Lester or Mr. Day. For more of this story, go below to post #28441 and its continuation. It's a fine mystery development by Forum 43 members.

Yes, I have numbers on order, but I have seen pictures of the 1:1 in these colors with no numbers.

The three little silver dots above the radiator should have "ERA" letters, the insignia of the English builder.

Once again, I thank the members of Forum 43 for their assistance. This kit has been a lot of fun!
Excellent ! And that's what kit building should be all about...FUN !!
Great job David.
Nice work David! ERA made 17 cars, most of which are still racing in historic events.
White Mouse
Great job, David. It looks fantastic!
Have a close look at some of the old photos of this car in the 1930s, and you will see a small white mouse painted near the cockpit.
Bira and his cousin Prince Chula called their racing team the White Mouse Stable.
Painting the little mouse on your car will make it an exact replica!
.
Thanks, John. In my research I saw a mention of the mouse, but your description is better. However, my "talents" for painting miniatures falls apart at much larger projects. Would this help?

Perfect, David!
LOL...as long as the mouse doesn't nibble on the wiring.
Nice Job, well done
