This is probably something most folk (except me) know...but what exactly is slush casting?

A 2 or 3 piece mold (little detail) and liquid metal is poured in (slushed around) when cured the...
...pieces are assembled to make a "crude" model. That's what I always understood the term "slush casting" to mean.

The old Fun Ho! models were examples of this casting method.
I once had a slush-cast aluminum MG TF they made.
