It sure looks gorgeous and especially so in this gleaming red color !
The last pic reveals what appears to be dust on the trunk lid. Possibly people feared the model was neglected and drew away from bidding?
Without having the model in hand, I'd say someone got a good deal.
Sure looks like a screaming deal to me. It is tough to know for sure the condition of those confounded fragile wire wheels Briggs loved so much.
I would have had some reservations about the condition. The tires seem to be splitting and worn. The chrome seems a bit dingy, indicating the model was likely on display. I don't think the box is original, but I may be wrong about that. The dust on the trunk raises even more questions. I'm thinking Randy may have dodged a bullet by not bidding.

Some weeks ago I purchased the top-down version for a similar low price as a companion for my top-up car.
Both series of the red MM43 Duesenberg models have weak points, the gap between windshield frame and body is often very large, for example. It took me quite some time to find examples
matching the build quality of my other MM43 Duesies. I think in this case it is a bit of everything that was named. The chrome strip under the right running board is worn (from frequent handling?)
and the model was probably on display in a non-dustproof showcase.
Anyway - I love those Minimarque Duesies... 😇

@ralf oh boy! Living just about a half hour from Auburn, Indiana, it’s required that I have a hefty collection of Auburns, Cords, and Duesenbergs. But you’ve got more than a few not in my collection. Congrats.
Looking more closely, it would appear that the Duesenberg ornament on the radiator cap is missing.
Condition, condition, condition. A top down version of this model sold on Ebay Oct 27th for $57.65
@bob-jackman I was going to say that too Bob. But I see the same car in Ralf's pic and it lacks this too. Perhaps the 1:1 lacks this feature, but that could be a stretch.
@mg-harv You're right, Harv. I have read in one of my books about Duesenberg that the radiator mascot at least on the J models was an extra ( that not everyone could afford 😎 ).
My J cars don't have a mascot, the SJ's have one. The green SJ on the last pic misses the part for the radiator cap / mascot altogether - I still have to replace it.

@ralf You are right..............the hood ornament was an accessory that became available on SJ models.
In regards of this MM Duesenberg, I don't understand why it brings so much comments and attention because it really looks cheap with crappy headlight lenses, barely any details and very poor casting.
