I found this post to be periphrastic too JK...yeah that's it....periphrastic.  An awfully lengthly response really....he could have simply said, no thanks I don't drink.

Humble apologies to those whose reading level means they struggle to cope with a few lines of finely-turned literary phrasing. It was thoughtless of me to take them out of their comfort zone.

In actual fact I am better known locally as someone who can generally be relied on to produce little more than the occasional monosyllabic grunt in a deeply impenetrable Scots accent  - and the sooner I return to form the better, apparently.
