Today at Donington ..............

I managed to find a nice Dinky Supertoys Guy Snow plough along with a MB
Corgi Toys Lancia Fulvia Sport Zagato. Both wanted items from many years
ago!

In new items I obtained a Kyosho J-Collection Subaru Impreza in Gulf livery.

Also obtained a mint 1968 Revell kit/slot catalogue, two copies of Model Cars
magazine from 1964 including the first issue and the first issue of a new
magazine devoted to our hobby -Diecast Model World. The Editor is Mike
Forbes formally Editor for Diecast Collector.

Cheers Chris

Chris, it sounds as though you had a banner day. Sometime things just go your way. Congratulations.

Congratulations, Chris

Great finds --- the Dinky Supertoy Guy Snow Plough, I would think, is a rather rare item (wish I had it!). The Corgi Lancia, though not so rare, does have the hood (bonnet?) that opens sideaways. Always thought that was kinda cool. And, relative to the post(s) further on down....it has those dreaded amber headlights!

Hi Skip you are correct the Guy Snow Plough had a limited production run and is hard to find as a result. However, at a large UK
toy fair they do turn up. The dealer I bought the Snow plough from had
another two for sale! These were both mint with their boxes and one of them
was the even harder to find grey plough version! The common-all-garden
ones have their plough in black and yellow. When I first saw this model in a
Dinky catalogue from the mid 1960's it went on my list to Father Christmas
but he kept forgetting!

The Lancia is easy to find but I have noticed it is hard to find one where the
plating has not worn. Finally, I got one that is mint that didn't cost an arm and
a leg! Yes it does have the sideways opening bonnet and amber coloured
headlights! Two novel features on a diecast made in Britain!

Willie, the short answer is no but .......

you could e-mail the Editor - Mike Forbes: mikeforbes.forbes@gmail.com

I spoke to Mike at the event and he said it would be available at selected UK
toy fairs and via subscription only. It will not be a newstand title because of
the expense and complexities this has in the UK.

It is an A4 magazine and the first issue has 52 pages and eight of these are
adverts.

Articles:
The Model and the real thing - Setting the Scene
Fairground models - Corgi Classics
Bristol buses - EFE & Corgi OCC
Yat Ming 1:43rd scale pre-war fire appliances
Dinky Toys Fork lift
Austins from Japan - diecast and tinplate
Promotional models from Supermarkets
Auction news
Bid for a Bargain
Competition

Hope this helps

Cheers Chris
