32 Ford V8 Roadster (Eligor)
Â
The Model 18, available in 1932, more commonly known as the Ford V-8, was the first Ford fitted with the flathead V-8.  The Model 18 was the first low-priced, mass-marketed car to have a V8 engine. The 221 cu in (3.6 L) V8 was rated at 65 hp (48 kW), but power increased significantly with improvements to the carburetor and ignition in succeeding years.

Chevrolet regained the sales lead at the end of 1936, but the Ford still sold well. A new club cabriolet model was introduced with a fully framed windshield and weatherproof top, and the convertible sedan gained the popular integrated trunkback design.
The look was updated with an inverted pentagonal grille with all-vertical bars beneath a prominent hood and three horizontal chrome side strips (on DeLuxe models). The V8 DeLuxe was called Model 68. A concealed horn, long a prominent part of the Ford's design, also brought the car into modern times. The new trucks continued with the old grille. Other major changes for 1936 were the use of pressed steel "artillery" solid wheels instead of wire wheels.
berline: noun an automobile with the front and rear compartments separated by a glass partition, as some limousines.

Great post, Frank!
Back around 1982 it were the Eligor Ford V8 models that made me become a collector.
I added all vans I could find, the Police versions and made some custom (fantasy) Police cars
The 1936 roadster on pic 1 was my first handbuilt, purchased "previously enjoyed" for a fair price.
I added some more from the aftermarket over the years, here 2 together with 2 enhanced Rextoys Ford sedans from 1935.
