The Chevrolet Camaro first went on sale on September 29, 1966, for the 1967 model year and was designed as a competing model to the Ford Mustang. The Camaro shared its platform and major components with the Pontiac Firebird, also introduced for 1967.

The first-generation offered a standard, Super Sport, and Rally Sport editions.

The Z/28 model was released on December 29, 1966, just in time to run in the 1967 Trans-Am series.  It featured stripes on the hood and trunk, styled rally road wheels, and a 302 cu in (4.9 L) V8 engine.

The FM Camaro is interesting, I have one in white. I didn't know they were done in another color.

The original 1st gen Camaro by Corgi.

Corgi 338

This one has been followed-up by many more, besides the FM and RC. Below are the '67 Convertible by Ertl, '69 Yenko SC 427 by Greenlight, '69 RS by Premium X, and the '69 ZL-1 by WhiteBox.

GreenLight 86206 Chevrolet Camaro Yenko pic2
Premium X PRD549 Camaro 1969 pic1
WhiteBox WB287 Camaro 1969 pic3

I still need to make pics of my pace cars - '67 by Spark and '69 by Road Champs. I wonder why no '68s are made?
