Beautiful Bugatti, beautiful replica. Great post, John. There are those for sure for whom the sticker price will not be a problem, I’m sure!

Thanks, David. EMCs are not for the faint of heart. But they can be very rewarding for those who can afford them.

As fine a model as that is, it's curious EMC would choose to make something that has been done so many times, and done well. Minichamps did both versions, and AutoArt did one with opening features. Before that there was a Rio, also with engine detail, and a white metal model by Western. And that's just 1:43, probably missed a few. Long time members may remember I reviewed the Mullin Collection car by Minichamps here about 10 years ago (sheesh - has it been that long?)
I agree, Harv. But clearly, EMC is appealing to the collector who specializes in EMC or gravitates to very small production runs. It's hard to argue about their quality. Still, that Auto Art is an absolute knockout. When I picked mine up, I thought it was just a tad pricey. The more I look at it, the greater I appreciate its value. We all have our own motivations to buy.

A fine review of this incredible and beautiful Bugatti model, John. It certainly is amazing and well worth it. I am glad to see them continuing their great modelmaking endeavors. Go Ukraine in all areas !
Some astonishing Bugatti replicas and everyone has sure pulled out all the stops on details.
I noticed the steering wheel is on the right side. Since Bugatti is not a British company, I was expecting the steering wheel on the left. Do you know why?

Hi Ed,
I think that only four of these cars were made back in the late 1930s. While most of Europe back then did drive on the right, not all did. Sweden did not change until 1967 and Austria and Belgium, 1938, I believe. Britain never did change as you know. France, where Bugatti were built did drive on the right. This model is likely based on a real car made for someone in a left hand drive country back then.
