@david-green

In addition to your extensive collection of Matchbox models, I am equally impressed with your knowledge about the history of them. Well done.

44-A, Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud,  1/80 scale. Introduced 1958, discontinued 1963.

This first Rolls-Royce issue has a metallic blue body with no window glass, a black base and metal wheels. It came with or without silver details and red rear lights.

Another Rolls-Race, this time with windows added and a opening trunk. Most of this issue came in metallic tan but silver, pinkish and grey variations exist. Base was usually black but sometimes unpainted. Black plastic wheels.

45-A, Vauxhall Victor saloon,  1/72 scale. Introduced 1958, discontinued 1964.

The Victor was released in yellow with a black metal base. There was no glassine the windows and wheels ranged from grey metal, then pale grey through silver to black, all plastic.

There are several red versions on eBay. These are likely repaints as it appears red was a pre-production trial on a slightly different casting and only 3 to 10 are known, depending on the reporting source. I have one but am positive that it is a very careful repaint.

@david-green

I had one of these back around 1959, when I bought a HO scale train set. At that time Matchbox cars were among the nicer cars available to use with HO trains.

A literally own a dozen plus vintage Matchbox, just enough to recall select childhood memories. And it will end there. I find these MB installments fascinating, however. Thank you, David for this series!
