I have this one. I glued the tires in place...just a small dab x2.
Another childhood favorite which I have in my collection.
52-A, Maserati 4CLT/1948, 1/63 scale. Introduced 1958, discontinued 1965.
This one came in red or yellow with white or cream driver. Number was usually 52, black on white circle but was sometimes missing or only on one side.
Base was black and wheels could be plain black hubs ore simulated wire wheels. These were all made in England as noted on the base.
Red was issued from 1958 to 1963.
Yellow was issued for 1964 and 1965. All these that I have seen have wire wheels.
A Matchbox Original made in China was issued in 1993 for the 40th Anniversary of Matchbox.

@karl Hi Karl the red version was supplied in G4 Race'N Rally Gift Set. I suspect that a few found their way into individual boxes too.

@chris-sweetman I used to race the Lotus, Ferrari, and BRM around the carpets as a kid! (Still do!) The borders make a great racecourse!
I had both of these in mint condition but regrettably I sold the red one.
This series has shown me MB cars I never knew about. I love it! 😎
I wasn't a huge fan of the Matchbox open doors/hoods/trunks in general but this Mercedes is one I liked a lot.
