Another favorite from my childhood which I have in my collection.  This was the model that educated me about English drivers being on the other side of the car and road.

1963 Lesney Matchbox Collectors Catalog

Catalog shows all Matchbox models that were manufactured by the Lesney factory in 1963.
The publication is very nicely prepared and contains new products that have not been seen up to that point. Announces a new era of Matchbox.

This model had a grey plastic driver. Most carried the number 19 but 5 and 52 were also found (as used on other race cars by Lesney).

Personally I was disappointed when Matchbox started with the opening doors and such.  I much preferred the look of their earlier toys.

@david-green

I had this one back in the late 1950s.

I still have this one too, but the treads are now in multiple parts!  I have not searched for replacements though...

I have these two.  The maroon lorry also came with gold colored saddle tanks and grille as I recall.

@david-green

I finally watched the video showing the pages in the matchbox catalog.  I enjoyed it very much.  Though I had only a few Matchbox models, I do remember many of the ones in the catalog.

David; I notice that this one is also a 1964 car but unlike the '64 Pontiac, its doors don't open (mind you it is a 4dr.).  Was the opening doors feature a short lived thing for Matchbox?
