EARLY MATCHBOX (Moko/Lesney/Matchbox)

22-C  1964 Pontiac Grand Prix Sports Coupe, 1/72 scale. Introduced 1964, discontinued 1970.

This came in red and regular black wheels until 1970 and purple that last year with speedwheels, Interiors were initially grey switching to white in 1969.

This one came with opening doors.

Here is the 1970 purple version with speedwheels.

It's a '64 David....I realize you know that of course  as we have recently discussed this one, with its opening doors.  It is interesting that they did away with that in the Superfast series.

23-A  Berkley Cavalier Caravan, 1/80 scale. Introduced 1957, discontinued 1960.

For 1957 only this was issued in blue. It changed to a pale green for 1958 through 1960. The green version had more information on the base.

This was the first of several campers and caravans under the 23 designation.

I have these two and like them.  A bit hard to find in M or MB condition as the decal and hitch are fragile.

23-B  Bluebird Dauphine Caravan, 1/80 scale. Introduced 1960, discontinued 1964.

This caravan came out in 1960 only, in pale green shades but changed to mauve in 1961 until discontinuation.

@david-green This is a nice little trailer.  I have only the metallic pink version MB.  I had the green one but sold it years ago...which I now regret.

23-C  Trailer Caravan, 1/87 scale. Introduced 1965, discontinued 1969.

This modern for the times squared off trailer design was the final caravan in the 23 series. Appearing initially in yellow, it was changed to pink half way through production.

The plastic roof could be removed revealing a light blue

interior. The trailer had black plastic wheels.

I have just the pink version of this one.  I recall being a bit disappointed with this one compared to the earlier #23 trailers.

24-A  Weatherall Hydraulic Excavator, 1/80 scale. Introduced 1956, discontinued 1958.

This excavator came initially in orange followed a year later with oyellow. It was replaced by a slightly larger version in 1959.

I had several of these as a kid; I played with them so much I wore them out.  Lol.

25-A  Bedford CA Dunlop Van 12cwt, 1/70 scale. Introduced 1956, discontinued 1960.

I have this one MB.  It was a favorite of mine as a kid.

25-B  Volkswagen 1200 Sedan, 1/65 scale. Introduced 1961, discontinued 1964.

This one was another favorite of mine as a kid, with its rear engine cover able to open.  Mint or MB examples of this little guy fetch a healthy price now!
