They look superb and extremely detailed ! Did your blue Skyline come with an extra engine that you placed next to it for the photograph or are the motors removable and you picked up a couple of cars and one can display them this way if desired ?
Well detailed beautiful models. Thanks Chris.
This scale seems to be developing quickly.

The motors are not removable but separate powerplants are included as display companions. These types of display set-ups have been a growing trend seen mostly on larger scale Asian replicas. With ever-increasing manufacturing sophistication, 1/64 can now emulate the "big boys," and that's pretty cool!  😎 😎 😎Â
Here's just a few 1/18 examples:
I've been dabbling in this scale for a while now. There are some incredible things being offered. Mike, many high-end European and Japanese 1/64s come with a detailed engine attached to the plinth. Chris, those models are amazing! Do those opening features function, or are they fixed?
Here are some of the shorts I've done on some of the new 1/64s.Â

Oh no John, that would be blasphemous! These are fully articulated, working 1/64 replicas.
Chris, is that Mazda RX-7 your model? If yes, where and when did you buy it?

Actually Ed, NONE of those models are mine but I find them interesting & very well done. I WOULD LOVE TO SEE some American makes!
As far as I know, none of these are available in the States, as John K.'s eBay link illustrates. Overseas shipping (China, Europe ) is the only path at this time.Â
Model Cars Houston has PGM and several other high-end 1/64 makes.Â

Nice models in 1/64 scale have been available since late 1990’s, although not with the interior detail you see now. I started collecting them at that time to go with my 1/64 scale trains. I have shown some of them in previous posts.
