What a fascinating car. I've never seen this and in your excellent little model all the language is there. What I find most interesting are the hints of the Bullet-bird in the front fender and the '67 Thunderbird in the protrusion of the grille-surround.
This is a model I never knew existed. It looks great. I have many 1/64 scale Mustangs, but none of the concept cars.

Yes, it does have some design cues in this 1963 concept car ! That bullet front end is really interesting and it's connection to the Thunderbird is evident here, isn't it ?
The 1:1 looked a little less like the T-Bird albeit with a distinct family resemblance...kinda. The concept was well known over here as it anticipated the arrival of the production Mustang. We all knew it was coming, which served to stoke the fires even more.

Really nice images of the dream car, John ! It sure was a good-looking car.
@charles-rockett Charles I agree with your observations about the 63 and 67 Thunderbirds. I have a 1/24 scale model of this car by Automodello which is outstanding.
Didn't IMC (?) make a 1/24 or 1/25 scale model of this Mustang Concept ?
I'm sure I remember having one.
They made some incredibly accurate models with opening features.
One of my all-time favorite models was the Johan model of the Chrysler turbine car.
Did anyone else ever have one of those beautiful models ?
Steve
I had a Monogram (?) 1/25 model of the 1958 Thunderbird in "3 different ways" black pre-colored form, but presently I have Yat Ming's 1/18 diecast model of the Chrysler Turbine car. I used to have two of them but had to downsize a bit and kept the very slightly improved version.
I am almost certain they made one. I remember making a model of this, probably in 1/25 scale, in 1960s. I think it was IMC.

Yep I think the updated version it has something to do with the color of the wheels or hubcaps I should say.
At least that's what I remember...

And it's a great model !
I have the Monogram 58 T-Bird coupe and it is 1/24 scale and an excellent model.

Yes, I think that is the one I had and it was such a good-looking model. And I believe you didn't necessarily have to paint it for it to look excellent !
