1975 in the REAR VIEW MIRROR

Our baby daughter Amy was born March 2nd in 1975.  She's coming up on her 47th birthday...not sure how that happened so fast.  We bought our first home in September 1975.  A small two-bedroom rambler purchased for the amount of $26,500.  When we signed the 30 year loan papers at closing, our eyes bulged at the final payment date...being in 2005.  There was no way we could think that far ahead.  We sold the house in March 1981 for $52,000 and after the closing we walked away with $25,000 cash in our hand.  In hindsight, that was a pretty decent return on our initial investment.  We used it as a down payment on our 2nd home.
