The accompanying test for this video says, "Monte Hollertz was a circle track racer in the early '60's. He noticed nice cars being torn into to make racers. He began a goal to collect a Chevy from every year. He came pretty close and literally built Chevyland USA which entertained tourists for decades. Monte Hollertz has passed away. The family of Monte Hollertz, the original owner of Chevyland USA sold all of the remaining cars, trucks, motorcycles, memorabilia, and more."
I don't think the site is "abandoned" but it looks like the video was taken before everything was sold off.

Interesting idea, to collect each year of Chevrolet, but I'm not sure it would ever have been viable as a self sustaining collection. The subject matter was just too limited but the creation must have been a labour of love. Monte Hollertz's family obviously did not have the desire to continue his legacy.
Very interesting collection. I suppose it's best that these cars are now sold to people who will likely care for them, possibly show them and most importantly use and enjoy them. I was surprised to find no 55, 56 or 57 Chevys displayed.
