Pretty cool ! It looks great and still does it's job perfectly after so many years.
@perrone1 That's the nicest "drawer display" I've ever seen! Seems like you could layer glass over it, and you'd instantly have a museum-quality exhibit. Pretty nice Tony.... Who knew? 😎 😎 👍 👍

Thanks Chris. When blades got so expensive I started buying the old double-sided blue safety razor blades and a Aristocrat razor. Very smooth and comfortable shave and the blades are very reasonable. That started the collection. Maybe 20 years ago.
The Aristocrat is in the middle of pic #2.
Edit: The two white-handled straight edge blades in pic #'s 1 & 2 date to the 1880's. Also in pic #1, bottom, left, is a two piece razor that Gillette made for the US Army WWI, 1917.
Very nice razor collection ! I still have my Grandfather's very old safety razor somewhere, and the old family house (now a sister's family's house) had a special slot in the back of the medicine cabinet in the bathroom for the disposal of used and dull blades. Although the house dated from 1911, that feature dated from my Grandpa's remodeling of the room in 1954.
I have a similar sharpener but with a stainless steel catch instead of plastic. It is on my laundry room wall and I think is from the 1940s. It still works well.
Tony, while I have a beard, I trim around it using a 1920s Gillette razor with classic blue blades. Cannot get the original blades but Wilkinson Sword make a satisfactory replica. Love your drawer collection.

We had two old houses that had them. The slot in the back of the cabinet lead straight down into the wall, between two framing boards. These days, few people ever heard of the used blade slot. And, of course, the new blade dispenser had a space in the back for old blades as well.
@michaeldetorrice I also remember the slot in the bathroom cabinet in the apartment where I grew up.

Cool! I forgot to mention that mine also has this cool but optional "auto feature." You can pull forward the spring-loaded jaws allowing the pencil to be held in place thereby reducing sharpening to a ONE hand operation. 👍 👍

What the hell are you two talking about? I've never known nor heard of this set-up. Wild! 😬 I just learned something!
@perrone1 ....and now I know. Amazing!
