@john-barry My understanding is that there are very few child actors who had parents with enough integrity to manage their child's professional growing pains and also not spend the money the child made. Shirley Temple and Ron Howard are two I can think of who were very fortunate in this regard.

The "system" sure didn't care much for childhood actors as they aged out. So very many of them were just discarded....very sad.

I saw Dakota Fanning last night in "I am Sam"........in 23 years,that movie has lost none of it`s emotional pull
I've seen that! We have DVD's that she's in: "Dreamer" with Kurt Russell, "War of the Worlds" with Tom Cruise, "Man on Fire" with Denzel Washington and, I believe, 2 others that slip my memory.
