MUSIC

Music talks to you. Listen to your favorite songs, they speak words of hope, love and memories. They tell you where you've been and where you're going. They make you smile, they make you cry. Songs bring joy and sorrow. They reveal your past, they give you a glance at your present, and dreams of your future. Your favorite songs are like looking in a mirror, revealing the person you are.

Music puts you in moods.  It can change your mood.  It uplifts you, and yes, at times it brings you down.  Music can be sunshine on a cloudy day.  It can make you warm, or give you a chill.  You can feel music.  As you change, certain songs stay with you, while some others go away.  Music is the flow to every day that keeps your world in sync.  You can hear a song in your head, you can feel it in your heart, and you can sing it too.

When I hear The Carpenters, "I'm On Top of the World".  When I'm calm and relaxed, The Cascades let me hear "The Rhythm of the Rain".  Sometimes when things are weighing heavy on me, Eddy Arnold will "Make the World Go Away".  George Strait always reminds me to, "Have An Ace in the Hole".  And I always hear Johnny Mathis telling me to, "Just Do the Best that You Can".  When waking up on somber mornings and my head is heavy, Johnny Cash reminds of "Sunday Morning Coming Down".

My music list of favorites is long and many.  My world would be lonely and quiet without out music.  Music talks to me!  I listen!

@georgeschire Yes I suppose we do relate particular songs to our life experiences George.  I find it amazing how particular memories are quite involuntarily triggered by music.

Ah yes. George you actually listed music with a melody and lyrics. I know I'm old but I just don't get today's noise.

Rap music is the ultimate insult to a person's senses.  I know I'm old but my gosh I cannot believe how such classless garbage can become so popular; it is a monster $$$ industry.  To a degree I understand its "groundswell of the oppressed" inner city roots perspective but the sound of it is just horrible to endure and the undercurrent of violence and disrespect running through it is actually so irritating it makes me angry.  IMO it is another aspect that adds to the desensitization of our young people to violence.

Bob, I'm with you regarding the "noise".  But we always need to be fair and realize that music, just like our love of cars, is a generational thing.  Smile In doing so though, OUR GENERATION was the best.  Right?  Smile /strong>
