we had it made didn`t we?......my sisters and I all got a single perfect orange in our stockings each Christmas

"...Oranges at Christmas...?"  I never knew this apparent fact. 🤔 🤔 🤔

That sounds idyllic ...........but I know there had to be some of those damnable candy canes in there as well

we would get those on Halloween ......along with candy apples,either would have been handmade by various neighbors........those popcorn balls,regardless of the associated holiday,held little sway in the face of foil wrapped Santas and the like.....best plan:try to get the dog to eat them

My stocking always had one Japanese orange, assorted candy (all devoured by Boxing Day) and a good number of Matchbox Toys!!  Yes....this is where it all began....thank you Mom.

WOW!  You had a Christmas stocking?  My mother told me (and my younger siblings) there was no Santa Claus and we'd better get used the idea of NOT getting any presents for Christmas because we weren't deserving.  Fact!
