@john-barry Haha....I see our wild haired friend has caught the hooks on his jeans more than once! He must have found his Mickey oh so fine, it blew his mind!
@jack-dodds  .......when I got this lure out yesterday to photograph, it actually emitted a few weak flashes of yellow light......65 years after it`s arrival on earth !.......Toni Basil currently 78 years of age,is,and always has been, about 10 years older than this lure....whether or not SHE lights up on occasion, is up for speculation
@john-barry My gosh how did she get so old when the rest of the Loungers, by our own admission, have aged so well? Lol. Perhaps she doesn't have a model car collection....silly fool if that's true.

Horrocks-Ibbotson Bakelite Surf Casting Model 100 - Utica NY (assumed early 1900`s)
You may recognize the rubber "plugs" as practice casting weights......On every Pleasant Valley Sunday, weather permitting, all the dads would cast these across their front lawns as a manly, yet non-threatening way of marking their territories

Hahaha...I love the part of the ad where it says if the lure cracks and there is an escape of Mercury please contact your local state environmental agency. That what you call a CYA statement.

Hah!!!   just another instance of the dangers of leisure activity......the most popular kid in grade school was the one who brought the big glob of Mercury to school that day....let it run around in the palm of his hand as if it were a trained mouse 💣Â
John; I'm getting the distinct impression that you have quite an impressive collection of vintage rods and tackle. I find this very interesting!
I`m glad you do Jack.....as long as this thread pulls in a handful of views each day I`m happy with it

what a wonderful song Frank......he`s the guy I`d wanna be sittin` with on that big front porch under the tin awning.....watching the sun go down on the lake .......maybe 50 yds in front of the house, through the sparse pines.......seeing the splashes and ripples as the last fish of the day feed on careless insects...no Applejack, but a bottle of a good smokey scotch and a few dunhill cigars would complete the picture nicely ......que the heat lightening over the water please
