40+ years ago (after my Navy service ended) I was a part-time bartender at a local pizza restaurant while going to college using my G.I. Bill benefits. During that period, the local teenyboppers would front-load the store’s jukebox with about a million quarters & select Free Bird with every quarter they spent. Night after night, hundreds of repeat playings of Free Bird - until I would almost vomit…I eventually caught up with the guy who owned the jukebox & got him to remove Free Bird. That day, I vowed to NEVER EVER EVER listen to that song for the rest of my life & although I’m mildly curious about this performance, I shall not partake…

HA! That's actually more in keeping with the original Celtic version of Freebird as written, almost 300 years ago, by Scottish composer James Oswald. Apparently, Freebird was one of King George III's favorite songs. Lynyrd Skynyrd simply arranged the tune at a faster tempo, with more bass (and drums of course).
