What an era for automotive styling!  We will never see anything like it again.  I'm glad to have experienced it even though I was born in 1952, so fairly young at the time, I still was enthralled with it all and have great memories.

Me too as a baby from '53.

George, those pics are a true H.R. I'll bet that we can name every car you posted pics of whereas if these were pics of the cars now trolling our current roads we'd be hardpressed to I.D. them as they all look alike.

So true Steve; plus we wouldn't even be motivated to do so, would we?  The cars of the 50s and 60s had such pizzaz by comparison and such unique individual designs!

The newest cars I see that are most easily identifiable to me are the Rivian and the Genisis SUV's and sedans.

Teslas, which are everywhere here in SoCal, are a dime a dozen so to speak.

My fave of those pictured is the '57 Pontiac as I am a huge Poncho fan.  My least fave is the connie clad '57 Mercury.

I really enjoyed these rear ends, George, even if that Packard still hurts.  The one that stood out for me was the '54 Buick Skylark.  Does the term "grandiose" kind of fit?

This past weekend at the Countryside show, Jim Cowen of Automodello was showing a prototype of the 54 Skylark in green which will be available shortly in 1/24 scale. I preordered one.

That Skylark is beautiful. Jim gave me a few pre-release samples to shoot videos. They're all excellent but one of them will make a lot of people happy.

I placed my order this morning.  I'm looking forward to all three of the '54 Skylark's from Automodello.  All are on order for me!

John, "one of them will make a lot of people happy", now that's a lead in comment.  Which one of the three is the one that will make us happier than the other two?

@georgeschire, my mistake. I should have been more clear. Jim gave me three 1/43 models that were not on display.
