@jack-dodds According to Webster's  it could be both. Folks waiting in line to finalize their purchases or to participate in a game (whether or not they have their pool cues, or cue sticks, is a different matter entirely ) 😏

It was always the "and sometimes 'Y'" that boggled my mind when it came to vowels.  The English language isn't consistent with sounds either.  Love that "Bow" and "Bow" can be pronounced two different ways.  And let's not forget the "To", "Too", and "Two".  How about the "i" before "e", but then it doesn't apply to "neighbor".  A list can be made that is endless.
