Funny how a song can always take you back to a time or a memory.  Sometimes it's a good memory, sometimes it's not.  But music is always good for jogging the old brain.  This morning I'm listening to the Country music station on TV and JOHNNY CASH'S "TENNESSEE FLAT-TOP BOX" song comes on.  Immediately, and I don't know why, but I thought about General Motors unique "FLAT TOPS" for 1959 and 1960.

GM FLAT TOPS #1
GM FLAT TOPS #2
GM FLAT TOPS #3
GM FLAT TOPS #4
GM FLAT TOPS #5
GM FLAT TOPS #6

@john-barry, interesting story about the song "Tennessee Flat Top Box" is that when Rosanne Cash recorded it, she says she wasn't aware that her Dad had years earlier recorded it and it was hit.  She does a good "cover" of the song.  I love both!  Johnny Cash is my personal all-time favorite.

@frank. Johnny Cash's "One Piece At A Time" is a classic.  I still remember the first time I heard it on the radio in 1976 when it was released.  I was getting ready for work and it came on the radio.  Of course I recognized it as being Johnny right away, but the song was new and it was about cars.

@john-barry, I've seen Roseanne Cash in concert three times, and each time she left me wanting more.  I find her music both fantastic and relaxing.  I actually had the chance to talk briefly with her after one of the concerts and she was very genuine and humbling.  I also had her sign her book to me.  If you haven't had a chance to read "her story", I highly recommend you check it out.

@john-barry

I've mentioned a few times that Johnny Cash is my personal all-time favorite music artist.  I saw him in concert over twenty times back in the day and am fairly certain that I have every song he ever recorded.  Though Roseanne certainly has a different style, I like music a lot.  I've always found it relaxing and calming.  She, like her Dad didn't always have the best of life, but she certainly has earned her spot among the elite in her business.
