Perhaps the auto art was one of the Corvettes that is actually made in a fiberglass compound or whatever as opposed to being diecast.  I always thought it was hilarious to buy a Corvette model that was made out of diecast but then again when I bought the C7 from auto art, I was really “really impressed

For me there's just no " heft " making me feel it was worth it.

Danbury cars have lots of detailing and more parts, on average, than some other makers. This causes them to feel heavier in their smaller footprint, that the larger models.

FM's larger cars, too, are heavy - The Coupe Simone for instance.

One of Danbury's heavier models is their 1/16th scale cars. Example, the Cord:

I posted/griped about this a few weeks ago.   

In the last 4 years, ALL the Autoarts I've purchased are getting increasing lighter AND lighter.   Their composite bodies with inner diecast shells weigh less with each passing year; apparently, they're using LESS diecast material.

For instance:  My older (2024) composite 1964 Aston Martin weighs more @ 2 pounds, than my newer (2026) composite 2023 Dodge Charger @ 1.5 pounds. 

We're essentially purchasing 1/18 plastic models.    🙄 🙄 🙄 

@chris I've put a STOP on anything Autoart since then. I agree my earlier versions are heavy, these newer exact ones are feathers !!!!

And lighter models, lol, should equal a less expensive shipping cost !! Yeah right !!
