Oh geez, I was 6 when Dad brought home his new '59 Impala in white with that multi-hued blue interior.

I went..nuts..gaga..cheered...screamed..yelled... How much I LOVED that Impala !ย

It was nothing like I had ever seen before I mean I had seen 57 Fords Chevys 58 Fords and Chevys but this 59 Impala with those wings in the back and that beautiful front end and that roof line I just went crazy !ย

In a good way of course cuz remember I was only 6 years old !ย

And I thought my dad was the best dad on the whole block of the street we lived on that there were no dads that were as cool as my dad !ย

God bless my dad I miss him everyday to this day he passed away at the young age of 54 when I was 34 I pray for him everyday and miss him everyday he was such a patient teacher and was so good and loved us so much that's all I could ever hope for.

I never thought that my Dad would pass so young.ย

I treasure the times we went fishing as my younger bros could never make time to go..but I always did.ย

ย Lol, I hate fishing...but being with my Dad wasย  the best.

ย

He'd fish and smoke while I'd just have a few 'adult' beverages on the bow...what GREAT times we had.ย

Tears still show up at times...those good times will never be forgotten.

I remember the old song (to me) my Dad and Mom used to know from the World War II years... "We'll Meet Again". And we will.

Yikes ! I spoke too soon ! The classic is right there on center stage with all the other '59 Chevys paying homage. And Dinah is still singing away ..... so, "See the USA" even if it's in a green and pink Chevrolet wagon !

Song is from Eddie Fisher... Just listen to it again and had tears in my eyes because I always remember and my mom even told me that my dad would put me in his lap well he was driving so I could steer the car while the song was being played...ย

I had the BEST Dad ever in this world and unfortunately GOD called him home to rest way way way too soon.

The pink and green sure shows a lot of gall

Shock some folks today......through the USA

What a way to clear the lot down at the mall

Though this Chevy's finish shows a shiny luster

With your color choice it belongs in the crusher

Gross out folks today.....with this Chevrolet

But don't be surprised if mad crowds torch your car"

@jack-dodds, I don't remember Dinah singing those exact words. Perhaps they appear when you play her songs backward?

No. Actually if you play the record backwards, at 1 min 32 seconds and again at 2 minutes 58 seconds you can clearly hear the words "Pink and green. Purely evil. This is surely the work of the Devil". And no, of course I'm not making this up.
