With it's inside, in-set headlights, the Nash Ambassador certainly had a unique front end that some people could find a bit polarizing ! Here is a quick photo-shop showing two versions of the '55 Nash with a wider grille and a 2 and 4 headlight front end.

I love it! Given that dual headlamps didn't arrive until '57/8, I find the first more plausible and am sure would have proven more popular than the original.

Thanks ! Perhaps given the likely arrival a short time later of true 4-headlight front ends, perhaps they could first do like 1957 Plymouth cars and initially have the inset lights be slightly smaller "parking lights".

@mikedetorrice I'd never noticed that.

I had understood (accurately or not !) that although nearly all states had made 4 front headlights legal, some states had not yet done this, so, while some 1957's just went 4-headlight fronts, some offered offered a choice between both (like Mercury's or also Cadillac's regular single headlight cars and the exclusive dual headlight Eldorado Brougham) and some were still just two single headlights for 1957.  Confusing !

@john-barry I have to agree with you JB. While I never had an interest in owning one of these in 1/1 scale, having a model of it would be wonderful.

I'd gladly add one as a 1:24 model, but would have no interest whatsoever in a 1:1 version.

I really like the four headlight version.

Some of the designs being thought up and/or sketched for post-1958 true Hudson and Nash automobiles are really interesting. Like the stillborn 1962 DeSoto, the Chrysler Corp S-Series cars and Packard proposals, they are all fascinating and I wish somehow they could all somehow become reality !
