I wished to see what it looked like with some mild dechroming and bumper cleanup. Also, just to see what it looked like, I did a mild section and recontoured the exhaust outlets in the rear bumper.

As found:

53 Cadillac CV (1)

Mildly dechromed with rear bumper altered:

53 Cadillac CV (2)

With a mild section and altered exhaust outlets:

53 Cadillac CV (3)

I know that some of you purists consider it a mortal sin to change something as iconic as this car but I do so just to see what it looks like. No offense intended.

Comments and preferences are welcome, as usual.

Enjoy!

I will forever love it in its original form.  Any alterations and I walk right by it.  I do this at car shows all the time.  I refuse to give even a glance at someone's Frankenstein work on a beautiful car.

IMHO this design is one that just doesn't lend itself to customizing.  With that said though, from a customizing perspective I think the trimmer bumper works well but it needs something to enhance the trunk lid a bit; seems too bare to my eye.

Changing this car from original is like removing its soul.

@jack-dodds: Thanks for the thoughtful comment, Jack. Looking closer, I tend to agree and did this edit to break up the sea of black.
