Here are some images of the Ford La Galaxie from 1958 or so. I will bet Ford Styling Director Elwood Engel was involved with this one before his move to Chrysler ! It is a really cool pearlescent-rose concept car. The Batmobile-type Smile model on the far shelf, whether coming or going, also looks great.

The pretty young lady appears to be giving us all the finger, but she is sure right about this cool Ford dreamcar !

Wow that last pic of the front end reminds me of the Chrysler Turbine car.

Which I always thought was a work of art...both exterior and interior wise.

Not to mention the gorgeous paint color.

But then again it was from the designer of the T-Bird right and he also did the Turbine car.

Elwood Engel was a genius !

Harley Earl, Virgil Exner, Bill Mitchell, George Walker, Raymond Loewy and Elwood Engel were all great designers, in my view.

IMO, they will never be equaled in design / innovation today where almost EVERY vehicle looks alike.

My Mom, because my Dad has passed, always tells me how I could name the cars I saw on the roads when I was 5yrs old.

Mom told me how Dad would speed up to find out if I was right..and I always was.

I knew my Fords from my Chevies from my Chryslers and Oldsmobiles and Pontiacs...

I cherish my Mom's memories !

Yes, when I was young I knew all the cars, most from just the tail-lights even at night.

What a beautiful work of integrating Packard tailights onto this Ford.

HA! Here's the rear....  Chrysler Turbine Car all the way, right?  Considering this debuted in 1958 says a lot about how much Engel favored this "look."

Also, it's the only car I've ever seen to wear chrome whitewalls.

@100ford2003 Being a former Packard owner, I can tell you that those are indeed from a 1954 Packard.  If they did NOT slope downward, then I'd say 1952 Kaiser.

Thank-you for confirming that !

As soon as I saw this car tonight Packard popped into my head and a buddy of mine wasn't so sure.

I couldn't find the owner to talk to.
