PICS: I'm a Route 66 fan and traveled it three times.
Cant wait to go again. So much to see and do. Here are a few places from a Route 66 cutout book with some of my 1/64 models. My favorite is the Blue Whale and the story behind its creation. Google Route 66 Blue Whale for quite a story.
Anyone else here travel 66?

Cool!
Never have. Thnx for your post. If those Chevy & Ford wagons were in 1/18th I had been all over them like ants at a picnic !
Theme song...
Probably one of the 1st tv shows to make the car a star too.
Which reminds me of 'My Mother the Car'. Anyone else recall that one ?
Jerry Van Dyke!

Yep. And Ann Southern as the cars voice. Jerry was a true gem on 'Coach'.
Yup. How about "The Invisible Man" (Austin Healey)?
Jack, was that a tv series ? I don't recall it..lol..just like other things at my age.

The Invisible Man (later known as H.G. Wells' Invisible Man) is a British black-and-white science fiction/superhero/adventure/espionage television series that aired on ITV from September 1958 to July 1959. It was aired on CBS in the United States, running two seasons and totalling 26 half-hour episodes. The series was nominally based on the novel by H. G. Wells, one of four such television series. Traveled brief parts of it, wish I could have traveled more.
We used to live less than a mile from Route 66 in St. Louis county.
In 1973 we drove our 1961 Corvette to Chicago and then west to California and back to St. Louis. I was 33 at the time and can't imagine doing that now at my age. Still own the car however.
Kudos to you Jack !
