A great humanitarian and longest living President. A huge legacy!
A wonderful human being with unmatched integrity who just wanted to leave the world in better shape than when he found it. Oh yeah, and he just happened to be a WW II Navy hero, the 39th President of the United States and be awarded a Nobel Pece Prize.
The longest lived President of the US ever; married to the same woman for over 75 years. A long and eventful life - R.I.P. Jimmy Carter.
'Hi, my name is Jimmy Carter, I'm a peanut farmer from Georgia and I'm running for President of the United States.' Perhaps not an exact quote, but such an unassuming announcement to be so accurately recalled - without prompting - some 50 years later. God I long for those optimistic times.
A not-so-great President in my books, but a wonderful human being, especially for his hard work with Habitat for Humanity…rest in peace, Jimmy!

From a Canadian perspective it is more difficult to judge a president's effectiveness accurately but I will say that Jimmy Carter was IMO an outstanding human being who cared deeply for his country, its citizens and those struggling in disadvantaged circumstances in many areas of the world. His deep faith, humility, genuineness and moral strength was inspiring; qualities that seem so very lacking in modern politicians around the world.
