To my eyes, the '50 Oldsmobile was the star of a decade of incredible styling for the General Motors in the Fifties.
1950 OLDSMOBILE 88
Some REAL Oldsmobile Facts:
For the Fifties Decade OLDSMOBILE was on the leading edge of automotive style and engineering in 1950. Bodies had ultramodern one-piece windshields, and breakthrough over-head-valve V-8s were under the hood. The "Rocket" V-8s debuted in 1949, and are often credited with starting the "horsepower race" that would escalate through the 1950s.

I especially like the 1959 Olds Futuramic 98 done by Conquest; the "Richard Nixon" edition. The roofline really sets it off.
I am not a GM fan, so I don't know, but the '49 - '52 Chevy, Pontiac, Olds all looked like the same basic body design/shape with major trim & drive train differences. Roof lines, rear fenders, front fenders, trunk & hood all look similar. Maybe size differences but look quite similar to me. Am I the only one? I include the split windshield as a major trim difference. I actually like the basic shape but prefer the Chevy's simpler trim and body style in this period, Pontiac is alright, don't care for the Olds, dislike [different styling] the Caddy & Buick.
We all have different tastes in cars and styling. That's what makes our love of cars so much fun. There is something for everyone.
