As I get older, appreciate Bette Davis genius acting. Watched " Mr. Skeffington", ( she was 20 ) in 1944 with Claude Rains. What great acting !!! Whats your favorite ???
Gone with the Wind, still love it after all these years.

"Shot in the Dark". Peter Sellars' subtle brand of humor gets me every time.

If laughter is the best medicine, I must now be over medicated.
My favorite oldie has to be Bringing up Baby (1938)
I keep an oldie queued up on one or more of my players all the time.....when I start nodding off watching my "important" stuff,I switch over to the oldie.....works as well as any anesthesiologist to deliver me peacefully to Morpheus.......I`m currently well into The Abominable Snowman (1957) and Spawn of the North (1938).......

I seem to recall your mentioning that once before Geoff
One of my top all-time favorite classic films is "Sunset Boulevard" (Paramount, 1950) which features a 1929 Isotta-Fraschini. In the film, Norma Desmond (Gloria Swanson) informs Joe Gillis (William Holden) that the car was all hand built and cost her $28,000, which in today's dollars is over $400,000. The vehicle was driven by Norma's butler and former husband Max Von Meyerling (Erich von Stroheim). Interesting factoid is that von Stroheim didn't know how to drive.
@david-green.. You have good taste, going to call you "Charlie the Tuna"..remember the commercial ??
Also cannot believe how GEORGE RAFT was such an excellent dancer !!
@john-barry did I forget that I forgot? Again?
Lol !!! nothing of the kind Geoff.....you just double tapped the trigger on your post....(or you had your keyboard selector on semi-auto)
I`m always dumbstruck when a fella takes a dame out to a "club" .......each couple gets a four-top fully laid out with crystal and linen....as they make with the small talk they are serenaded by a massive orchestra and usually there`s hotsy totsy headliner/singer in the wings !!
What in the WORLD would the cover charge be in a joint like that ?????
