I can't hope to top his excellent work with his polls. But we can still have some fun. So, which one do you pick; Old Fashioned, Glazed or Sprinkles? Leave your comments below and order your choices.

Brilliant! Old fashioned for me followed by glazed and finally sprinkles. I prefer the less sweet varieties of donut. The first donut that I ever ate was called a Berliner.

Given my chosen career I consider myself (although retired) somewhat of an authority of sorts on this subject.  Glazed; old fashioned and sprinkles in priority for me, but all of them easily pass the taste test and qualify for the Sheriff Buford Blue Ribbon award.

Sorry gents, all are good (I eat everything!) but why anyone would pick a "plain donut" (with a hole in the middle) over a cream or jelly filled donut, topped with chocolate or powdered sugar is, quite frankly, beyond my comprehension. It makes no sense to me.....like trying to divide up the sky and sell it off in parcels.

(....but if I must choose, I choose "glazed" please.) 😏

I feel your angst Chris and recommend a large box of Timbits assorted (delete plain) and a tall dark roast coffee to settle your self down.

I’m an Apple Fritter man myself! But if I have to choose one of these it’s the Glazed hands down

Glazed for me too. I'd never eat the others.

@chris Chris I am with you on this.  It must have something along for the ride on the doughnut or inside.

@carsman1958 Another vote for the filled donuts. If you are going to eat something that's not exactly on your doctors recommended health food list why not go all the way.

There is only one large Donut choice here in northern New England and there is at least one in every town. "Dunkin", there are numerous independent donut shop/bakery.  Being a diabetic I very seldom have a donut but while on vacation down south 10 years ago I fell in love with this, they were so light I could eat the hole dozen [10 years ago]:
